' Dawn Neesom and Christopher Biggins have reacted to the news of cost-cutting measures at , which have severely impacted 's daytime runtime. Christopher Biggins said that Lorraine was "fighting for survival" and that ITV was going through "a very strange period," adding that he "absolutely adores her [Lorraine]" and that she is a "fantastic girl." Following the news that the programme will be cut from one hour to 30 minutes per day, and air for 30 weeks a year, speculation is mounting that the beloved presenter could walk away from fronting Lorraine altogether. She has been in the TV industry since the 1980s and hosted her show for 60 per cent of the year.
Biggins added, "If I were Lorraine, I'd say, 'I'm off!'; I think this is television today, I'm afraid." GB News host Alex Armstrong then interrupted, "She's not really been hosting her show? So really, is she losing out on much?"
Dawn then corrected Alex and said, "She hosts her show for 60% of the year." Ellie Costello then chimed in, "Well then, surely she'll be hosting for 100% of the time now?"
In ITV's 2026 Daytime schedule, Lorraine will run from 9.30am to 10am on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year, which aligns with the lead Daytime presenters, who host their shows around a seasonal pattern rather than throughout the year. During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, will run from 6am to 10am.
Meanwhile, will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year, while will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year - the schedule it occupied for over a decade until 2016.
Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV's Media and Entertainment Division, explained, "Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.
"These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever."
