Delhi: Australian batsman Josh English caught everyone’s attention in the match played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Playing an excellent innings of 73 runs, he gave Punjab Kings (PBKS) a significant victory and took the team to the top position in the points table. After the match, when English was asked if he would like to bat at number 3 in place of Shreyas Iyer, he smiled and answered the question.

The right -handed batter said, “I don’t think Shreyas is very happy with it, but I am! Today I felt that I can make an innings. I do not have power like the rest of the players, so I have to find gaps.”

The 109 -run partnership between English and young batsman Priyansh Arya changed the attitude of the match completely. He further said, “We targeted the right bowlers and balls. Playing against Mich Santner, it felt as if it was a cat and a rat game. But, he bowled brilliantly. She enjoyed playing with Priyansh, he did not have to explain much.”

Team captain Shreyas Iyer also supported the Kangaroo star batter, saying, “English is the only player whose position has changed the most. He likes to play a new ball, so I wanted to play more balls, and he did amazing.
