Former Gujarat captain Priyank Panchal has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) gave this information on Monday. GCA Secretary Anil Patel said, Gujarat Cricket Association congratulates Priyank Panchal for his wonderful career. The batsman has decided to retire from all forms of cricket.



Made a splash in domestic cricket
This Gujarat batsman, who has led India A, has scored more than 14 thousand runs in domestic cricket. He scored 8856 runs in 127 first-class matches at an average of 45.18. This includes 29 centuries and 34 half-centuries. At the same time, he has 3672 and 1522 runs in his name in 97 List A and 59 T20 matches respectively. Apart from this, he also took 16, 4, and 4 wickets respectively in these three formats.


GCA Secretary Anil Patel further said that right-handed batsman Priyank made a place in the national team as captain for India A. He was a prolific run-scorer as an opener and represented Gujarat Cricket Association in the domestic circuit for over 17 years.


Panchal's dominance


Panchal had a stellar season in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. He scored a total of 1310 runs with an unbeaten innings of 314 runs. His strong innings helped Gujarat become the champions at that time. He was also a member of the Gujarat team that won the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2015-16 and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2012-13 and 2013-14.
