Regarding leaving Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Kush Shah has been candid. The young actor, who had portrayed Goli Hathi in the well-known comedy, recently said that he misses working on sets. Kush said that he needed to “do something” and that it was crucial that he quit the program.
“Sets are my home; therefore, I miss being there. But because it was my 27th birthday and I thought it was time to take action, I had to make this choice for myself. Because people continue to love the program, I think it will continue to run for a very long time. I honestly like TMKOC and its cast, and I became glued to its atmosphere. We also shot during COVID. We moved to Daman and took a shot. Not one day has gone by when I have woken up and had nothing to do. When Kush spoke on the podcast Just Kidding with Sid, he said, “Then there comes a time when you start missing it.”
Kush also noted that he “loved” every day he spent on the sets of TMKOC, where he worked alongside Dilip Joshi. “I began practicing Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah when I was in fifth grade. I began working on the fifth regular vacation. With scripts in hand, we would improvise while sitting with Dilip Sir. As a child, I began studying with him and found it enjoyable. I have gained a lot of knowledge, particularly from Dilip Sir and Bhide (Mandar) Uncle. Their timing is insane. I cherished every day on the sets and liked being an actor,” he said.
In 2024, Kush Shah departed TMKOC to continue his education overseas. Dharmit Shah has taken his spot on the program.
For more than 17 years, TMKOC has been shown on television. Kush wasn’t the only performer to quit the well-liked series. Disha Vakani, Bhavya Gandhi, Gurucharan Singh, Shailesh Lodha, Neha Mehta, Jennifer Mistry, and Raj Anadkat were among the other actors that previously departed the program.
