Lucknow: The Government of Uttar Pradesh is making efforts keeping an all -round approach for the development of the state. The Yogi government is also working continuously with the aim of maintaining environmental balance in the state. This is the reason why the Yogi government has promoted e-vehicle to keep the climate of the state clean. Today, big states like Delhi, Maharashtra have also left behind in terms of e-vehicle operation.

In the era of revolution of electric vehicles, all the states are emphasizing environmental balance by using petrol and diesel. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is encouraging e-mobility. The popularity of e-rickshaws in UP’s tourism towns has increased.
More than 4.14 lakh vehicles are currently running in the state in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh government has emphasized e-vehicle in 2022 to deal with environment challenges under the new electric vehicle manufacturing and mobility policy. UP is at the forefront of e-vehicle operation. While the number of services in Delhi is 1.83 lakh, Maharashtra has 1.79 vehicles running.

E-rickshaws are in vogue in the tourism towns of Uttar Pradesh, Ayodhya, Kashi, Mathura, Prayagraj, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Kanpur and Lucknow. The state has gained 85 per cent stake in EV sales. It is being used a lot for passenger and freight in urban areas. The state has become the biggest beneficiary of the Government of India’s Fame One and Two (Faster Adoptation and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicle in India) schemes. It has been decided to set up more than three hundred new charging stations in 16 municipal bodies of the state.
EV is to promote rapid adoption, establish a strong network of charging infrastructure and to make the state a global center of Battery manufacturing. Under this policy, the state government is working rapidly towards attracting an investment of 30 thousand crore rupees and creating 10 lakh jobs. By 2030, India is claimed to have 102 million EVs.
