Aamir Khan is all set for his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, after a long break. The actor bared his heart out on his past mistake and the reason behind his first failed marriage.

The actor got married to Reena Dutta at the age of 21, but they had known each other for just four months before getting married, and it was a mistake.

Recently, Aamir Khan appeared on Raj Shamani's podcast, wherein he shared anecdotes of his life. When Raj asked Aamir about the biggest mistake in his personal life, The superstar added that he had made a lot of mistakes, and he believes that he has turned into this man because of his errors in life. He talked about his first wife, Reena and stated that they got married quite early in their life.

Aamir revealed that he was 21 and she was 19 when they decided to marry, but they had just known each other for four months. But in a rush as young bloods, they decided to tie the knot. However, it doesn't mean that Reena was a mistake, but they should have given thought to making such a big decision. Aamir was quoted as saying:

"We got married at 18 April, hum sirf ek dusre ko 4 mahine se jante the, usme bhi humne bahut kam samay bitaya tha. Humare mann mein bahut prem the ek dursre ke liye. Isliye humne shaadi bhi ki. Par ab jab mai dekhta hoon toh shaadi jaisa jarruri kadam soch samjh kar lena chahiye, us waqt jawaani ke josh mein aap bahut saari cheeje nahi smjhte ho. Lekin baad mein apko ehsaas hota hai."

Aamir further stated that Reena is not the mistake of his life as he had spent beautiful 16 years with her. He got two lovely children, Junaid and Ira, so it is not a mistake, but one should think twice before deciding to marry at a young age. Aamir said:

"Halaki meri zindagi ke 16 saal Reena ke sath bahut ache kate to ap ye matlab na nikale ki Reena meri zindagi ki galati thi. Yeh mera matlab bilkul nahi balki Reena is amazing person, ek tarah se hum saath mein bade hue hai. Hum bahut chote the humne jab shaadi ki toh ek tarah se Reena aur mai bahut ek dusre ko respect karte hai or bahut pyaar hai ek dusre ke liye prem hai, par kisi ko bhi itni jaldi, itni young age mein harbarahat mein shaadi nai krni chahiye."

Aamir added that he should not have thought of marrying within just four months of knowing Reena. But he had definitely learnt a lot from the marriage, and it turned him into a better person. Aamir stated that he could not even think of marrying within four months of getting to know a person.

Raj further asked Aamir about one red flag he had in him, which broke his first marriage with Reena. The superstar was taken aback, but without mincing or trying to cover up, Aamir added that he was too lost in his films, which could be the big reason for ending his first marriage. Aamir said:

"I was a workaholic, which was a red flag. Mai emotional bhi bahut tha, abhi mai improve hogya. Pehle agar koi mujhe hurt krta tha dukh deta tha toh mere around shutter aa jata tha. Mai 3-4 din kisi se baat nahi krta tha, shutter aa jata tha."
