With summer weather on the way, Brits can expect but only some areas will see highs of 25C. So far, spring has been filled with mild weather for most of the UK and, into June, temperatures are looking to be warm too.
Latest weather maps from forecaster WXCHARTS show temperatures will reach 25C on Thursday, June 12, in the east of England. The south east will see the with temperatures higher than anywhere else. In London and the east of England, temperatures will reach between 21C and 25C, the maps also show.
In the Midlands, around 23C will be seen, and in the north, will sit between 12C and 15C. As for Wales, weather will vary from 12C to 19C and in Scotland from 11C to 15C.
Even though the temperatures will be high, the criteria for an official heatwave are not likely to be met. The Met Office says: "A UK heatwave threshold is met when a location records a period of at least three consecutive days with daily maximum meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature threshold.
"The threshold varies by UK county, see the UK temperature threshold map below."
Maps for June 11 show will be cooler the day before the heat arrives.
On June 11, at 12 noon, maps show the highest temperature will be 16C, a whole 9C less than the heat that will arrive the next day.
This 16C will be seen in London with for the rest of the UK sitting between 11C and 14C.
On June 12, by 12 noon, temperatures will have begun to rise with around 17C to 20C in London and the east of England.
As for the rest of England, will be at around 10C to 13C apart from the south west where 15C to 17C will be present. Scotland and Wales will also see the cooler temperatures.
A Met Office forecast says: "Changeable conditions are expected to continue into this period. All areas seeing showers or longer spells of rain at times as Atlantic systems move across the country which also bring the potential for strong winds.
"Early in this period, wet weather is likely to be more focused across southern parts before the focus of wetter returns to the northwest.
"Towards the middle of June, there is an increased chance that high pressure will become more dominant, at least in the south.
"This would result in some longer periods of drier weather, however, unsettled spells remain likely. Following a rather cool start to this period, there is a greater chance of warmer spells towards mid-."
