New Delhi: From July 1, HDFC Bank is applying new charges on rent payments, online gaming, and adding money to wallets. Limits on reward points for insurance transactions are also changing.

If you spend more than Rs 10,000 in a month on online gaming platforms like Dream11, Rummy Culture, Junglee Games, or MPL, you’ll be charged 1 per cent on the total amount.

The maximum charge will be Rs 4,999 per month. No reward points will be given on these transactions.

If you load more than Rs 10,000 in a month into wallets like PayTM, Mobikwik, Freecharge, or Ola Money using your HDFC credit card, a 1 per cent fee will be charged on the total amount.

Again, this charge will not exceed Rs 4,999 per month.

For utility payments like electricity, gas, and water bills – if your monthly total goes above Rs 50,000, a 1 per cent charge will apply.

Maximum monthly fee will be Rs 4,999. Insurance payments will not be counted as utility payments, so no extra charge applies there.

More Changes in Charges and Limits

For rent, fuel, and education payments, the maximum charge per transaction will now be Rs 4,999.

Rent payments will continue to have a 1 per cent fee.

Fuel payments above Rs 15,000 will also have a 1 per cent fee.

Education payments made directly through school or college websites or card machines will not have any fee.
