Ganga dussehra 2025: The festival of Ganga Dussehra is very important in Hinduism. This is the auspicious day when Maa Ganga descended from heaven to earth and for this reason this festival is also known as ‘Ganga incarnation day’. Every year Ganga Dussehra is celebrated on the Dashami date of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month.

    Devotees should worship and bathe keeping in mind the Uday Date and auspicious time.

Worship of Ganga Dussehra:
On the day of Ganga Dussehra, devotees should get up before sunrise and bathe in a holy river (especially the Ganges). If you cannot go to the banks of the Ganges, then you can take a bath by mixing Ganga water in bath water at home. After bathing, install a statue or picture of Maa Ganga by wearing clean clothes. Worship the mother Ganga by law, in which Ganga water, flowers, lamps, incense, naivedya and fruits are offered. On this day, it is considered auspicious to chant the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagwati Hilli Hilli Mili Mili Mili Gange Maa Pavitre Kuru Kuru Swaha’ or ‘Har Har Gange’ mantra. After worshiping, sing the Aarti of Maa Ganga and donate to the poor according to your ability. Flowing lamps on the holy ghats of the Ganges is also considered very auspicious, which brings happiness and prosperity in the house.
