Looking at potential incomings, Arsenal are keen to sign a No.9. Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko have emerged as the frontrunners in their chase for a new centre forward.
Here, football.london has taken a look at the latest Arsenal rumours...
Gyokeres pickViktor Gyokeres would prioritise a move to Arsenal if he has the pick of his clubs, according to . The Gunners are among those targeting the Sporting CP forward this summer.
But Sporting believe that Gyokeres prefers to make the switch to Emirates Stadium, despite reported interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Chelsea.
Sporting, who signed Gyokeres for just £16.7 million from Coventry City in July 2023, are prepared to sell the 27-year-old for £60m. He has scored 95 goals in 100 matches for the Portuguese club.
FL says: At this stage, Gyokeres should be Arsenal's preferred first-choice striker target. A Premier League proven centre forward would have been my preference, but it doesn't look like one is going to be available, with Alexander Isak staying at Newcastle and Liam Delap making the move to Chelsea.
Of course, there are others who could be on the market, but none of them have the same appeal as Gyokeres, who has been a goal machine for the last couple of years. While Gyokeres hasn't got the Premier League pedigree, he has proven himself in the Champions League - and I think he can have the same impact for Arsenal.
Sesko requestRB Leipzig have asked the Slovenian Football Association for Benjamin Sesko not to be included in the squad for their upcoming international friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday.
Sesko didn't feature for Slovenia against Luxembourg on Friday and Leipzig hope he is not involved for their second fixture ahead of a potential transfer to Arsenal. The Gunners are set to be stepping up their long-standing interest in the 22-year-old, who scored 21 goals in 45 appearances in 2024/25.
Ahead of both international games, Leipzig contacted the Slovenian FA to request that Sesko did not feature in either match, as the risk of injury could potentially jeopardise a transfer.
Slovenia have made no promises because in their view, their star man could still prove his fitness in time for Tuesday's match against Bosnia in Celje.
FL says: Sesko would be my second choice behind Gyokeres. Although Sesko has the age on his side, as he is five years younger than the Sporting CP man, he doesn't have the same profile as Gyokeres and I don't think he would suit Arsenal as much, especially when Mikel Arteta's side are up against a deep block
That is not to say that Sesko is a terrible option, but Gyokeres should be preferred. If Arsenal do get Sesko over the line, he could well have a lasting impression in the Premier League, though.
