Naga Munchetty supported her BBC Radio 5 Live co-star after they were suddenly pulled off air and had to leave the studio. Earlier this week, Matt Chorley's radio show was interrupted after a fire alarm went off in the studio.
The presenter tried to continue with his show and brushed it off as a drill until he realised he had to leave the BBC Radio 5 Live studio. Matt took to social media to share a clip of the moment, and told his followers that Naga "had it under control".
Naga also sent her co-star a message of support following the incident. Along with the clip of the moment, Matt wrote: "When you're taken off air by a fire alarm. You leave the building.
"Get a taxi to go to another building. And then get the all clear so run back to the first building. Only to find @tvnaga had it all under control. Just another day at @bbc5live a thank you for your patience."
Naga simply replied: " Got your back my friend x."
Matt and Naga's co-star went on to joke: " I regret pressing the alarm but it was for you and Naga teasing me after I made light of the "happy new year" message on Monday."
During the clip, Matt can be heard telling his listeners, "Is that a fire alarm that has gone off? We will plough on as we are.
"I don't know if you can hear the fire alarm at home. We actually had a fire drill here yesterday, so hopefully, everyone is well prepared for what that might involve."
Matt tried to continue with his report as the fire alarm sounded in the background. He continued: "We are not going to...I need to leave the studio, apparently, so we are going to leave the studio and you're going to listen to this."
Matt went on to play a pre-recorded voice-over over which issued an apology for the "technical difficulties".
It said: "We hope to return to normal programming as soon as possible."
Naga's voice can then be heard telling her co-star "to just breathe" as she tried to calm him down.
Matt went on to thank Naga for "looking after the place," and he was able to continue with the rest of his show. He added: "We all seem fine."
BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One.
