India is set to conduct the first tests of its high-speed train in late 2026 on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor, marking a major leap in domestic rail technology. The prototype production will begin in September 2025 at BEML’s Bangalore facility, with the design and core engineering phases nearing completion.
