New Delhi police have arrested a man who issued a death threat against Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Following the alarming threat, authorities from Delhi and Ghaziabad coordinated a swift investigation that led to the suspect’s detention in Ghaziabad.
The incident unfolded when the Ghaziabad police control room received a call threatening to kill the Chief Minister. Acting promptly on this information, a joint operation between Delhi and Ghaziabad police was launched, resulting in the suspect’s immediate arrest.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Ghaziabad, the threatening call was made around 11 pm. The caller abruptly ended the conversation and switched off his phone immediately after delivering the threat.
During interrogation, the accused admitted to making the threatening call while intoxicated. The police have confirmed that an inter-state coordination team was swiftly established to track down and apprehend the individual responsible.
Authorities continue to investigate the matter thoroughly to ensure the safety of the Chief Minister and prevent any future threats.
