The painful memories of losing her son continue to haunt Kushagra Kanodia’s mother. On Monday, she appeared in court in Kanpur, but the clothes worn by her 16-year-old son at the time of his kidnapping and murder were not presented because they had not arrived from the police storehouse.
Case BackgroundKushagra Kanodia, son of businessman Manish Kanodia, was kidnapped and murdered in October 2023. The police revealed that Kushagra’s former teacher, Rachita, along with her partner, had kidnapped him for ransom and then killed him. The family has been devastated and shifted from Kanpur to Surat in 2024 to escape the painful memories but still travels back to Kanpur for court proceedings.
Issue with EvidenceThe clothes, a key piece of evidence, have not been brought to court because the police storehouse constable responsible has been transferred to Ghaziabad without handing over charge properly. Kushagra’s family met the Kanpur Police Commissioner, who assured them that the clothes will be presented in court soon.
Emotional MomentWhen asked about the missing clothes, Kushagra’s mother broke down after describing their color, showing the deep emotional pain the family continues to endure.
Hope for JusticeDespite the setbacks, the Kanodia family remains hopeful that justice will be served and Kushagra’s murderers will receive the harshest punishment.
