If you're someone who stocks up on staple ingredients then it turns out the dish can easily be jazzed up quite a bit. The speedy meal may have been around for more than four decades, but you don't have to consume it as it comes.


Foodies made all sorts of suggestions as to how the dish can be transformed, and some offered pretty good ideas. Obviously, what you decide to add depends on the flavour you opt for, but people have made some pretty good recommendations.

Chicken and Mushroom

Many people say adding peanut butter to chicken and mushroom flavour can go a long way. One person wrote: "Sounds crazy, but the chicken and mushroom (the green one) is amazing if you put some peanut butter in and stir until it melts.


"It's like chicken satay noodles. You could always boil them in a pan in some soup I suppose."


Another person said they can confirm that the addition makes a difference. In other thread, it's also been dubbed the "God tier" of instant noodles.

When it comes to other flavours of Pot Noodles, people had all sorts of suggestions, but a few were mentioned again and again. Many admitted to adding soy sauce to their noodles, while some opted for ingredients such as ketchup and cheese.


There were all sorts of suggestions as to how you could spruce up the speedy dish, and people seemed keen to try out a few ideas. It turns out, people attempt to boost the flavour in all sorts of ways - but most tend to add one additional ingredient.



One social media recommended: "Chicken and mushroom goes well with extra soy sauce and a bit of ketchup. Put less water in than needed so it goes a bit thicker. Serve with bread and butter."


Another wrote: "Chilli flakes, chicken stock cube, any hot sauce." A third replied: "More soy sauce, plus half a stock cube."


Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "I like to use a few splashes of premium soy sauce. Then I tend to add some turmeric powder, a splash of Worcestershire Sauce and a sprinkle of dried parsley for that takeaway taste."


To boost the flavour of your noodles, experts say there are also other things you can add to make a difference. Generally, sauces like Sriracha, chilli sauce or hot sauce are good options to add some spice.


You could also add sesame oil and soy sauce for umami. If you want to achieve a richer broth, you could add a little coconut milk or a dash of Maggi liquid seasoning. Protein and vegetables can also make a difference to the overall taste.
