star has spoken out about where his future lies. The midfielder remains locked in contract extension negotiations with the Gunners, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the month.

Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his midfield ranks regardless of Partey's situation, but the from Real Sociedad has raised questions about whether the Ghana international will feature regularly in the future if he puts pen to paper at the Emirates Stadium.

Zubimendi is expected to join Arsenal in a deal worth £51million, but that has not stopped Arsenal from looking to advance in talks with Partey - especially given that Jorginho has left as a free agent and Oleksandr Zinchenko is expected to depart.

Speaking to 3sports, Partey has now spoken about the potential arrival of Zubimendi and whether speculation about the new signing - and arrivals in general - can impact players' decision-making.

He explained: "I think the first thing is where are you happy and where do you feel at home. At the end of the day, you've been in football, you've been in different teams, it is not going to be the last team you play for or the first team.

"Then it's about what is your next objective, what do you want to achieve next. You still have to look at all this and at the end of the day we all have a family that needs money, this is our mind.

"We are not getting younger, we are working. There are a lot of things where you have to look now with a family, where you want them to be happy. When you go out nobody is going to destroy your family, these are things you have to look at. When you are young, you just go anywhere.

"I'm an Arsenal fan, I can't decide anything and just have to leave it to my agent and the club. Me, I just want to enjoy football."

Partey won't be short of interest if he does decide to leave Arsenal this summer in favour of potentially more guaranteed game time elsewhere. Several Saudi Pro League clubs have been linked with the midfielder, as well as former club Atletico Madrid.
