Monsoon Delay Heat wreaks havoc in North India, when will the rain bring relief : Monsoon Delay has brought North India in the grip of severe heat this time. The monsoon, which arrived before time in May, stopped in the first week of June, and people hoping for rain are struggling with the scorching heat. The monsoon, which stopped on 29 May, has not moved forward till now. Instead of water, fire is raining from the sky. However, weather experts have expressed hope of relief from June 14. Let us know the reason for the stoppage of monsoon and the chances of rain.

Monsoon Delay: Why did the monsoon stop?

Every year the southwest monsoon arrives in Kerala by June 1 and covers the entire country by July 8. But this time the monsoon currents weakened after May 29. The lack of a low pressure system in the Bay of Bengal prevented the monsoon from advancing. According to meteorologists, the movement of the monsoon is phased. Sometimes it stops for weeks, leading to a dry spell and increased heat.

Relief expected from June 14

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and Skymet Weather Services said that the monsoon will be active again from June 14. The cyclonic circulation forming in the Bay of Bengal will give strength to the monsoon. This system will bring rain to Mumbai, Sikkim, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan, Goa, and Karnataka. Monsoon will also reach Odisha, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh.

Role of Bay of Bengal

The Bay of Bengal has a major contribution in the activity of monsoon. According to Skymet President GP Sharma, two weather systems will speed up the monsoon. A cyclonic circulation will bring rain in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. The second system will be active in Odisha and Chhattisgarh on June 14. These systems will move the monsoon towards North India, which will provide relief from the heat.

Heat wave in North India

The IMD has issued a heatwave alert in north and northwest India. Temperatures are above normal in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are also in the grip of heat. Temperatures are expected to decrease with the progress of monsoon from June 13. Kerala and Karnataka are already receiving light rainfall.

future prospects

The delay in monsoon has troubled people, but weather experts say that the situation will improve from June 14. The northern boundary of the monsoon will expand, and rainfall will increase in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh. People are advised to stay hydrated to avoid the heat. This change will bring relief to North India and will also be beneficial for agriculture.
