's unveiling was full of surprises. From taking to the microphone and speaking in perfect Spanish to rebranding himself as 'Trent' with the unfamiliar No. 12 shirt, there is every indication that this is the start of a brand new era for the 26-year-old.
Despite all the change, the fact Alexander-Arnold rocked up to the Spanish capital accompanied by a new love interest did not fly under the radar. And now many are wondering about who Estelle Behnke is, the story of their relationship, and how the pair met.
Alexander-Arnold and Instagram model Behnke are believed to have coupled up in October last year - shortly after the England international split from his ex-partner Iris Law.
Behnke had around 60,000 Instagram followers at the start of May, but that figure has now ballooned to more than 108,000 as news of her relationship with Alexander-Arnold continues to spread. Even before they met, Behnke had gained a following on the social media platform as fans took a liking to her jet-setting lifestyle.
The first signs of a romantic spark emerged when Alexander-Arnold was seen 'liking' Behnke's posts, and they were soon pictured enjoying getaways, drinks and meals in exclusive locations.
They were spotted eight months ago at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, which costs a cool £6,000 per night. They were also snapped enjoying a meal at celebrity hotspot Cibo in Cheshire soon afterwards.
A source told about Alexander-Arnold and Behnke's relationship: "It's very early days but they are officially dating - they seem really into each other. Trent hasn't been single long and is enjoying spending time with Estelle. They're just really enjoying each other's company and seem quite smitten."
It is unclear whether Behnke will permanently join Alexander-Arnold in Madrid, given they have been together for less than a year. The right-back had spent his entire professional career with boyhood club Liverpool before joining Los Blancos as a free agent.
Real are believed to have paid to release Alexander-Arnold from his Liverpool contract ahead of the Club World Cup, making him eligible to appear at the tournament. Xabi Alonso's side get their group-stage campaign underway against Al-Hilal on Wednesday, when eagle eyes may be required to try and pick Behnke out at Miami's 65,000-capacity Hard Rock Stadium.
