'Gangs Of Wasseypur Vibes' Fans React As Anurag Kashyap Drops 'Nishaanchi' Announcement Newspoint  |  2025-06-17 03:39:14

Anurag Kashyap has been on an acting rampage and no one would have thought that he would be directing a movie anytime soon.


But the veteran director recently dropped an announcement for his upcoming movie, which is touted to be another gangster thriller set in the rural heartland of India.

The movie is titled Nishaanchi, which translates to ‘Shooter’ or ‘Sniper’ in English.


The film is produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the banner of Jar Pictures, in collaboration with Flip Films. Notably, it marks the acting debut of Aaishvary Thackeray, who comes from a prominent political and film background. He is the grandson of the late Bal Thackeray, the iconic founder of Shiv Sena, and the son of Smita Thackeray, known for producing the hit film Haseena Maan Jaayegi.

Announcing the movie, Anurag Kashyap wrote, “Lights, Camera, Action, Yeh fillam dekhne ke liye taiyyar ho jao.”

While some users are shocked to hear the announcement, many of them called it another ‘wasseypur’.

Earlier, a Filmfare report had stated that Nishaanchi was initially offered to Sushant Singh Rajput after the success of MS Dhoni: An Untold Story.


Nishaanchi is slated for release on September 19.
