Bollywood actor Tanuj Virwani is reeling from a deep personal and emotional betrayal. The actor recently revealed that his spotboy, a trusted aide who worked with him for over a decade and was considered “like family,” was stealing from his home. What began as minor thefts turned out to be part of a much bigger breach of trust.

From Missing Jackets to Stolen Currency
Tanuj shared that over the past few months, he began noticing small items disappearing—first jackets, then his late father’s expensive watches, and most recently, foreign currency after a trip to the UK. “Things are not kept under lock and key in our house, because there is a tradition of trust here… but now that has broken,” he said.

Addiction Behind the Theft
A detailed investigation revealed that the spotboy had fallen into drug addiction and was selling stolen items to sustain his habit. The revelation shocked the actor and his family. “My wife, mother, and young daughter live in the house. Knowing a drug-addicted thief was among us was terrifying,” Tanuj confessed.

Emotional Fallout and Police Action
Tanuj expressed heartbreak over the betrayal, especially after helping the staff member travel abroad and supporting him like family. “We got his passport made, took him to different countries, and this is how he repaid us,” he said.

A police complaint has been registered, and some stolen items have been recovered. However, several valuable watches are still missing. The incident has shaken the family’s sense of security.

A Wake-Up Call
Tanuj concluded with a heavy heart, “We are middle-class people; we never felt the need for bodyguards. But now, we will think a hundred times before hiring new staff
