The plane fell on the hostel building of BJ Medical College and Civil Hospital, killing 275 people including 241 people sitting in the plane. A young cricketer (Dirdh Patel Cricketer) who was going to England also died in this.
Among those killed in the plane crash in Ahmedabad is 23-year-old Dirdha Patel, who played for Leeds Modernians Cricket Club in England. He studied at Huddersfield University. This Leeds club mourned the death of Dirdha Patel and paid tribute to him.
The club said they were deeply saddened by the news of his death. "The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Long's family and all who knew him."
"Deer wanted to continue playing cricket once he settled in his new job," the BBC reported, citing a spokesperson for the Airedale and Wharfedale Senior Cricket League.

He told that his brother Kritik used to play for Pool Cricket Club. Both the clubs observed a minute's silence before their matches held over the weekend and paid tribute to Dirdha Patel.
Former Chief Minister also died
Many disturbing videos of the Ahmedabad plane crash went viral on social media. The video showed how the plane turned into a ball of fire as soon as it hit the building. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also on board the plane, who was going to England to meet his family. He also died. His last rites were performed on Monday, June 16.
