If money is being deducted from your account without telling you, then you may have set up UPI AutoPay for some service.

Has it ever happened to you that the balance in your bank account was less, and on checking it was found that some old subscription or service is still deducting money? If yes, then you may have activated UPI AutoPay, and now you have forgotten.

Nowadays people use AutoPay for services like mobile recharge, electricity bills, OTT platforms (like Netflix, Amazon Prime) or insurance premium. This eliminates the hassle of making payments again and again. But the problem arises when you stop using that service and yet money keeps getting deducted every month.

So let's know how you can turn off UPI AutoPay in just a few seconds and avoid unnecessary expenses.

What is UPI AutoPay?

This is a digital facility that allows you to make any payment through UPI Allows you to set an ‘e-mandate’ for a service. Once you turn on AutoPay for a service, the payment will be automatically deducted from your account on the due date – without any reminder or manual process.

3. Tap the ‘AutoPay’ or ‘Mandates’ option.

4. A list of all active services will appear.

5. Select the service you want to stop.

If you do not get help from the company, then you can also contact your bank and request to block such transactions.

Caution is prevention

Think twice before setting up AutoPay for any new service.

Keep checking old and unused subscriptions from time to time.

Do not ignore bank SMS or UPI notifications.

UPI AutoPay makes our digital life easier, but it is important to use it wisely. Otherwise, money will keep getting deducted every month without any need, and we will not even know. So, go to your UPI app today and activate it. Check the mandates and disable those that are not needed immediately.
