Senior IPS Officer Pushpendra kumar Has been appointed as the Acting Director General of Police (DGP) for ChandigarhAccording to an official notification from the Union Ministry of Home AffairsA 2006-Batch Officer from the Agmut cadreKumar will hold the Additional charge of dgp Until further orders are issued.

This appointment fills the Leadership Vacuum Created after the Transfer of IPS Raj Kumar Singh To delhi in April 2025. Singh, who was previously served as bot Inspector General (IG) And acting dgp of Chandigarh, Had assumed the role following the departure of Surendra Yadav,

Pushpendra kumar took over as Inspector General of Chandigarh Police in June 2025Following his transfer from delhi. Before his chandigarh posting, kumar served as the Joint Commissioner of Police (Eastern Range) With the Delhi policeAnd earlier, as Director in the Ministry of Defense In 2021. He is knowledge for his robust administ skills and operating Expertise Across Diverse Law Enforcement Roles.

His Appointment Comes during a period of active engine in public outreach, notable marked by his Leadership in Organizing The “Drug Free India” Walkathon head on June 12, 2025AIMED at Spreading Awareness on Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation.
