Driving in the car during summer is no less than a challenge due to the heat in the car. In such a situation, the air conditioner (AC) of the car becomes the biggest support for the driver and the passenger. In recent times, cars have the option of automatic climate control along with manual AC, due to which people often get confused as to which one will be better for them. Both AC systems come with their features, which depend on your needs and budget as to which one will be right for you. Here we are telling you the difference between manual AC and automatic climate control as well as the advantages and disadvantages.

Manual AC System
This is a classic system, which draws hot air from the cabin of the car and cools it through coolant. After this, cool air is sent inside through the blower. To operate it, the driver or the passenger himself has to use the knobs (buttons or dials). There are three controls in it, which are temperature, fan speed, and air direction.

Advantages: Cars with manual AC are cheaper, due to which these cars fit in the budget. The driver or passenger can set the fan speed and temperature according to the weather and need. Due to simple technology, it also reduces fuel consumption. If there is a problem with it, then getting it repaired is also cheap.

Disadvantages: You have to change the settings again and again, which can cause trouble in long-distance drives. Due to changing the settings, again and again, the temperature inside the car gets affected.

Automatic Climate Control
This is a modern technology, in which sensors monitor the temperature inside the car and maintain the temperature set by the driver. In this, the driver has to set the temperature once, the rest of the work is done by the system itself.

Advantages: Due to this, the temperature in the car remains balanced, which gives comfort in long-distance travel. Some cars have dual-zone, tri-zone, quad-zone options. Due to this, different temperatures can be set for the front and rear seats. The driver does not have to set the temperature again and again, due to which his focus remains on the road. Energy is saved due to the sensor found in it, which is beneficial in the long run.

Disadvantage: The repair costs of cars with automatic systems are high. If there is any technical fault in it, then getting it fixed can be difficult and expensive.

Which one is right for you?
If you want to buy a car on a low budget and mostly travel short distances, then manual AC will be better for you. It is cheap as well as easy to operate. On the other hand, if you travel long distances or with family, then automatic climate control will be right for you. Manual AC reduces fuel consumption, but the automatic system gives good results in the long run. Manual is cheaper in terms of maintenance.
