Star Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna recorded an unwanted milestone with his costly spell on Day 3 of the ongoing first Test between England and India, finishing with an economy rate of 6.4.

New Delhi: On the third day of the ongoing first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, England were out to bat at 209, 3 wickets down against India. Having been dismissed with 106 runs, Ollie Pope was no longer in the forefront of the match, but at that point, Harry Brook took his baton and went to fortify the course of England in a resolute manner.

A significant 99 runs by Brook and 40 by Jamie Smith were able to get England to a first-innings score of 465, only six less than India scored with 471.

Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna came to set a record that he did not want to. During the opening innings, he bowled 20 overs, giving away 128 runs and taking three wickets with his economy rate being 6.4.

Remarkably, it was the worst economy rate in a Test innings by an Indian bowler, while delivering at least 120 balls. All things considered, only five men beyond the history of Test bowlers have recorded a higher economy rate in the identical conditions.

The visitors entered the second innings with a slight advantage. They however got on a rocky beginning when Yashasvi Jaiswal was put out after scoring only four runs. The debutant Sai Sudharsan had not a good start in the first innings when he fell to a duck, but was able to pierce 30 in the second to get dismissed again.

At the end of 3rd day, India was leading by 96 runs. KL Rahul and Shubman Gill are still at the innings without being dismissed with 47 and 6 respectively. As England start Day 4, they would want to put an early scoreboard and limit India to a low total.
