Mumbai: Mumbai’s Central Railway services faced major disruptions on Tuesday morning, leading to delays of 20 to 25 minutes on several local trains. The incident triggered chaos across key suburban stations as thousands of office-goers were left stranded during peak hours. The affected train services primarily between Thane and Kalyan were running at a slower pace, compounded delays across the Central line.

The delay was experienced just a day after an overhead wire snapped between Kurla and Sion stations late on Monday night. Although repair work was completed later in the morning, train services continued to operate behind schedule for several hours, with ripple effects felt across routes to Badlapur, Karjat, Khopoli and Ambernath.

No Official Statement On Delays

Several local trains reportedly arrived an hour late, while many were stationed at platforms for extended periods ranging from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. However, the Central Railway has not issued a formal statement addressing the

Crowding intensified at multiple suburban stations as frustrated commuters waited for delayed trains. Frustrated passengers took to social media and expressed displeasure over the delay during peak morning hours.
