On Sunday, June 23, Selena Gomez , the founder of Rare Beauty , posted on Instagram a new wolf cut hairstyle that she later disclosed was a wig. Gomez has donned bangs on several occasions over the years, but this time she is only going to wear them temporarily.
The singer noted in her caption that growing and maintaining bangs is not for the faint of heart and can require a significant amount of dedication.
Gomez wrote, "I would, but I'd regret it, then get it redone, so I simply won't #bangs."
Gomez wore a fluffy white bathrobe and posed poutily for the camera in her selfie, which featured her new hairstyle.
There are numerous messy layers and extra volume in the wolf cut. The result is a delightful departure from the Only Murders in the Building star's typical looks.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Gomez's longtime makeup artist Hung Vanngo—who also works with Halle Berry and Scarlett Johansson—was the first to share her temporary look with the world.
In a playful reference to Gomez's bang debut post from March 2022, Vanngo captioned the selfie he took with Gomez, "New hair, who dis?"
