The BMW 5-Series has been one of the most well-known brands for executive sedans and BMW has built a very special one. The G60 version now gets a special edition BMW 540i xDrive Legacy Edition which is exclusive to Canada and will be limited to just 151 units.

The cool thing about this 540i is that is gets a 3.0L inline six B58 motor without any plug-in-hybrid assist. It only gets a 48V mild hybrid system and this Legacy Edition is the only way to get this drivetrain. The B58 produces 375 bhp and 540 Nm of torque. Power goes to all four wheels via an xDrive AWD system and a ZF 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Another cool thing about the Legacy Edition is that it can be ordered with a BMW Individual colour without any additional cost. You can see the Maldives Black II Metallic pictured here and that is an inspiration from the E34 generation of the 5-Series which was the first to get the 540i badge. It however featured a V8 engine and could also be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Legacy Edition also comes standard with 21-inch wheels and M-Sport Pro package. One can choose between red or blue painted M-sport brake calipers and it also gets an 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system. As far as pricing goes, it costs around CAD$100,000. BMW is already taking orders for this model and deliveries will begin later this year.
