NSP Scholarship 2025: The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has started the online application process for scholarships for school and college students across the country for the academic year 2025-26. According to the official notification, “Applications are now being invited for pre-matric, post-matric, and top-class schemes of all ministries and departments.”

Scholarships available under NSP

The National Scholarship Portal provides various types of scholarships for students of different classes and academic qualifications. These mainly include the following schemes:



Merit-Based Scholarship: For students with excellent academic performance.



Means-Based Scholarship: Given to students from economically weaker sections.



Minority Scholarship: For students belonging to Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, and Parsi communities.



Pre-Matric Scholarship: For school students from classes 1 to 10.



Post-Matric Scholarship: For students pursuing higher education from class 11 onwards.



Central Sector Scholarship: Given to students at undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels.

Eligibility Criteria for NSP Scholarship 2025



Students have to fulfill some general eligibility conditions to get an NSP scholarship. The major ones are:



The applicant's family annual income should be a maximum of Rs 2,50,000.



The student must have successfully passed the previous qualifying examination.



A valid Aadhaar card is mandatory.



If students from reserved categories are applying under the respective category, they must submit a valid caste certificate.

NSP is a centralized platform operated under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) of the Government of India. It simplifies the process of sending scholarships directly to the accounts of students through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). First of all visit the official website scholarships.gov.in.



Click on the "Apply for Scholarship" option on the homepage.



Register by filling in your personal information.



A reference number will be sent to your mobile number after registration.



Download the Aadhaar Face RD and NSP OTR app for identity verification.



Complete facial recognition and generate OTR ID.



Apply using this OTR ID when the scholarship form opens.



Fill out the application form, upload documents, and make final submission.
