They’re back, but the game has changed. The much-loved ‘Masti’ trio—Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi , and Aftab Shivdasani , are reuniting for the fourth instalment of the bawdy comedy franchise that redefined the Indian adult-comedy space. This time, though, they’re not the only ones stirring trouble. Titled ‘ Masti 4 ,’ the film is reportedly charting new territory with a fresh, gender-flipped premise dubbed ' Reverse Masti '.
The big twist: This time, It’s the wivesWhile earlier instalments focused on the extramarital escapades of three married men, Masti 4 flips the script. In this updated take, the women aren’t staying on the sidelines, they’re entering the mischief themselves.
“Masti 4 is more of a ‘Reverse Masti’, as the female protagonists will also be indulging in an extra-marital affair. All the characters indulge in a comic battle for one-upmanship,” a source told Pinkvilla. This change sets the stage for a new era of comic chaos, where no one is innocent—and everyone’s hiding something.
The minds behind the madnessSteering the chaos is Milap Milan Zaveri , who comes full circle as director of ‘Masti 4,’ having been the original writer of ‘Masti’ (2004). According to insiders, Zaveri is taking the franchise back to its witty, screenplay-driven roots, dialing down the overt slapstick of later sequels in favor of situational humor with a twist of thrill.
The film is backed by Balaji Motion Pictures, with filming underway in the UK and a Summer 2026 release on the cards. With Zaveri at the helm and the original trio intact, ‘Masti 4’ is aiming to balance nostalgia with reinvention.
Old favorites and fresh facesRiteish, Vivek, and Aftab are back, funny as always. Now, they have new team members with them: Elnaaz Norouzi, Ruhii Singh, and Shreya Sharma. With more people in the mix, the story gets deeper and more risky as sides change and games grow among all friends and foes. How well the old and new stars work together will be big in bringing back the fun of the series and making it feel fresh today.
Smarter, Riskier, BolderMasti 4 brings more than jokes—it is looking at new themes. By changing the usual male and female roles and diving into shared betrayal, the movie seems to talk about today's marriage ways, unfair rules, and both sides being mischievous, all shown through funny scenes.
