Australia's most tattooed woman shared how much she has spent transforming her appearance with ink and body modifications. Amber Luke, 30, has been getting inked ever she she was a teenager - and now looks completely unrecognisable from when she first step foot in a tattoo parlour.

With 98% of her body covered in tattoos, the once fresh-faced blonde teen turns heads with her alternative appearance, prompting some to share their support or dismay at her decisions. However, others have started to question just how much her extensive tattoo collection has set her back over the years.

Speaking to Alex Milovanov on Instagram, Amber revealed the eye-watering price her edgy appearance has cost her, saying it totals to a whopping £177,000.

Amber said: "I was 16 [when I got my first tattoo]." Not only does she have regular tattoos but she has also undergone body modifications including eyeball inking, horns on her forehead, and he has had her tongue split.

She says undergoing eye inking was the most painful body modification she has experienced, admitting she "went blind for three weeks".

Sharing how she responds to negative reactions towards her unusual appearance, she said: "Some days I'm stronger than others mentally but all around I think you need to remember everyone has their own ideas of what beauty is."

She added: "The biggest piece of information that I would take from the whole experience is to do it for you.

"If you feel like you're living up to society's standards of trend setting, you're doing it wrong."

Sharing a last piece of advice for anyone wanting to undergo a tattoo journey, she urges people to do their research before jumping in and potentially regretting their decision further down the line.

Commenting on the Instagram video, one supporter said: "Doesn't matter what Ambs does to her body, she'll always have a heart of gold."

Another user added: "It’s really nice to see these interviews / videos, no not everyone might agree with it but exactly what was said beauty can come in lots of different ways! Normalising all kinds of beauty is so important."

A third user said: "I got my head bit off by a bloke once with heaps of tattoos and body mods for staring at him but I was genuinely looking because I was interested and I wanted to look at what more was done. Not all stares are judging."

And another user added: "The idea of tongue forking or eyeball tattooing terrifies me but if it’s what someone wants to do, if it makes them happy, then more power to them.

"That’s not my body, so it’s not up to me. They probably didn’t do it in order to get people to stare, they probably did it cos they like it, so I wouldn’t stare."
