Why is India shut down?
The bandh has been called by 10 major trade unions of the country and their labor organizations. It is alleged that the four labor codes brought by the government weaken the rights of the workers.
Main issues:
Workers are being taken away with the right to strike and union.
Cut in unemployment, inflation and government recruitment (Bharat Bandh July 9).
The recruitment of retired people reduced opportunities for the youth.
Demand to increase MNREGA wages and scope.
