Patna. A major relief and good news has come to light for about 2.5 lakh special teachers working in Bihar. The state government has decided to give these teachers the benefit of service continuity. Due to this, not only will their salary increase, but they will also get the benefit of Seniority, which will have a positive impact on their future jobs and promotion.
Who are ‘special teachers’?
The employed teachers who have become state workers who have passed the competing test conducted by the Education Department of the Government of Bihar, are now called “special teachers”. This includes teachers of the following categories: teachers from class 1 to 5, teachers from class 6 to 8, teachers from class 9 to 10, teachers from class 11 to 12. These teachers used to get low salary and limited rights as previously employed teachers, but after passing the competence examination, they were given the status of state worker.
What will happen?
Due to lack of benefit of service continuity to specific teachers, they could not get Pay Protection. Due to this, he was suffering financially and was also lagging behind in preference. Now the Education Department has clarified that: All specific teachers will be given service continuity. Their salary will be fixed afresh. Objections will be taken from them to remove salary discrepancies. The outstanding salary will also be paid after investigation.
How long will you get benefit?
According to the Education Department, all preparations for this scheme are almost complete and these teachers can start getting benefits from 15 August 2025. This Independence Day will bring ‘economic freedom’ for teachers in real sense.
