Susanna Reid of Good Morning Britain didn't hesitate to greet a well-known colleague upon his return to the show.

ITV audiences have recently been treated to Melvin Odoom delivering the latest entertainment updates, filling in for the regular showbiz correspondent.

Richard Arnold, who usually dishes out the celebrity news, had been missing from the programme for some time.

But on Wednesday morning, he made his comeback, and Susanna was quick to offer him a hearty welcome.

Before jumping into the entertainment segment, Susanna queried: "Welcome back by the way! Where have you been?"

Richard quipped: "A cheeky little tour Stateside to stay with some friends. Lowkey, non-fuss, in the middle of Connecticut."

He shared with Susanna that he indulged in reading a book during his break and managed to complete it, reports the Manchester Evening News.

When probed if the read was worthwhile, Richard humorously remarked: "Normally when I'm on holiday, the answers are all at the bottom of a glass! But I actually sobered up enough to read a book."

The conversation soon shifted to fashion choices as Susanna pointed out Richard's sharp suit, shirt, and tie ensemble, contrasting with another presenter's more casual style.

Throughout the show, viewers noticed Martin Lewis sporting a long-sleeved T-shirt beneath his blazer, a choice that seemed to bemuse Susanna.

She questioned Richard: "What do you think of Martin's rather unusual look this morning?"

Martin Lewis, the financial guru, interjected: "It's not unusual! It's a very common type of outfit!"

Richard couldn't help but quip: "I'm just relieved your pants aren't on the outside, more of which in a moment our Superman expert."

This playful remark follows the revelation that Martin Lewis had appeared on Mastermind over ten years ago, choosing the iconic superhero as his specialist subject.
