Yet one of the longest relationships was with his first major partner after divorcing Priscilla Presley.

From 1972 to 1976, The King dated Miss Tennessee model Linda Thompson, who lived at Graceland with him.

Marking the anniversary of their meeting at a Memphis movie theatre, his old flame has shared a gallery of rare couple snaps from Elvis' final years.

Posting on Instagram, Linda wrote: "On this date, July 6, 1972 I met the man who would change my life forever."

The 75-year-old continued: "It doesn't matter that it's been... Is it 10 years? Or is it 53 years? He is still remembered all over the world and celebrated for the legacy he has left behind! I'll be at Graceland again this year August 7 through the 14th to pay homage to the memory of Elvis.
