M42 traffic LIVE: Chaos after incident sparks hour-long delay and 3 miles of congestion Newspoint  |  2025-07-11 08:39:14


The M42 in the West Midlands is closed in both directions between J4 (Shirley) and J5 (Solihull) due to a Police led Incident, National Highways said. The organisation, which mentioned a road traffic collision, warned that delays were building in both directions following the closure.


At approximately 7:15am on July 10, National Highways reported approximately three miles of congestion both ways, northbound back to the M40 and southbound back to the A45 Birmingham Airport.
