The government has given a big relief to crores of employed people. This time, the annual interest has been deposited in the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) accounts very quickly. So far, the amount of PF interest has been transferred to a total of 96.51% of the accounts. That is, if you also work and you have a PF account, then your money may have arrived too.



This time, the interest has been sent early compared to last year. In 2023-24, the interest was deposited between August and December, but this time, the money started coming from June itself. This news is going to directly benefit crores of employed people.



PF interest deposited at the rate of 8.25%



For this year, i.e., 2024-25, the government has fixed the PF interest rate at 8.25%. The Finance Ministry approved it on 22 May 2025. After this, EPFO ​​sped up the work and started depositing interest in the accounts from midnight of 6 June 2025.



Till now, the accounts of 33.56 crore employees working in 13.88 lakh companies were to be updated. Till July 8, the interest amount has reached 32.39 crore accounts of 13.86 lakh companies.



Interest arrived five months earlier.

This time, PF interest has come about five months earlier than last year. In 2023-24, interest came from August to December, but in 2024-25, money started coming from June itself.



According to Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, this time the work of updating the account was completed in June itself, which made it possible to transfer interest quickly. Now only a few accounts are left, in which money is expected to come in over the next week.



Interest of Rs 4000 crore has been transferred.

The Labor Ministry has informed that till now, interest of about Rs 4000 crore has been transferred to EPF accounts. Money will reach the remaining accounts this week as well.



How to know whether interest has been credited to your PF account or not?

1. How to check from the EPFO website

Go to EPFO's official website

Go to the 'Employee' section and choose the 'Member Passbook' option

Log in with your UAN number and password

Now you can see the transaction in your passbook whether interest has come or not.



2. You can also check from the UMANG app

Download UMANG app

Open the app and go to the EPFO section

Go to 'Employee Centric Services'

Click on 'View Passbook'

Log in by entering UAN and OTP

Transaction details will appear on the screen, which will tell whether interest has been paid or not.



3. You can also check the balance by sending an SMS

SMS to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number

Write in the message - EPFOHO UAN ENG (if you want to know in English)

To know in Hindi - EPFOHO UAN HIN

Balance will be available through SMS in a few seconds



4. You can also check your PF balance by a missed call

Send a message to your registered mobile number. Give a missed call to 01122901406 from your mobile number



In a short while, you will get information about your PF balance through SMS.
