New Delhi: The MG M9 has been launched in India, six months after being unveiled at the Auto Expo 2025. The M9 marks the brand’s fourth all-electric product in the Indian market and their first electric luxury MPV coming to the country. It will be sold through the company’s new MG Select retail network, which is dedicated to the premium models that the brand has to offer.

It will see direct competition from the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire as a luxury MPV. Launched at the introductory price of Rs 69.90 lakh, the MG M9 targets the luxury segment while catering to the Indian roads, coming with a range of 548 kms for the 90 kWh NMC battery. In 30 minutes, the battery can go from 30 per cent to 80 per cent. Customers can go to the MG Select website or showroom and book the MPV for Rs 1 lakh with deliveries starting from August 10th, 2025.

Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, Anurag Mehrotra said, “The MG M9 marks a new era, reflecting India’s growing demand for luxury and sustainable innovation in automotive. Crafted as a symbol of prestige and technological prowess, the MG M9 blends avant-garde design, advanced electric performance, and the finest features for India’s rising aspirations.”

He further added that the MG M9 will deliver an “opulent” experience while staying environmentally friendly. 

MG M9 Interiors

The M9 comes with Presidential Seats, which have 16-way adjustment, 8 massage settings, heating and ventilation for comfort. Further, it has the Yacht-style dual sunroof, which the company says invites natural light. There is also 64-colour ambient lighting along with a 13-speaker sound system (which includes a subwoofer and amplifier). 

All of the luxury can be controlled through “Intelligent Arm Rest”, says the company. It will further come with the likes of Cognac brown leather and suede wrapped seats with a flexible storage space of 1720 L and 55L frunk. 

MG M9 exterior safety and performance

MG are offering it in three colours, which are Metal black, Concrete Grey and Pearl Lustre White. It comes with minimal split LED headlights, connected DRLs. On the back, it comes with a waterfall-style integrated LED taillight design. MG have put their MPV on 19-inch ContiSeal tyres, with heated ORVMs that provide clear visibility across all conditions. 

In terms of safety, the MG M9 comes with seven airbags and has been certified 5-star in the EURO NCAP and ANCAP ratings. The MG M9 comes with a high-performance electric motor delivering 245 pS and 350 Nm of torque. As of now, the MG Select showroom is in 13 key cities, and the M9 will be available in these showrooms. 

The MG M9 has a good competition and with interests rising in the MPV segment across different price ranges, it does have a chance in the market.
