Varanasi: A large crowd of devotees gathered at the Kashi Vishwanath temple on the second Monday of Sawan in Varanasi. Millions of devotees have been engaged in queues since morning to see Baba Vishwanath. There are long lines in two circles and devotees are moving forward with the cheers of ‘Har-Har Mahadev’ with Ganga water in their hands.
The importance of this Monday increased even more because on the one hand, on the one hand, where the holy Monday of Sawan is, on the other hand, there is a fast of Ekadashi. That is, this rare coincidence of worshiping Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu became an opportunity of special faith and energy for the devotees. Devotees believe that worshiping both the gods on this day gives special fruits.
The Kashi Vishwanath temple administration has made special arrangements keeping in mind the huge crowd of devotees. All four entrances have been opened. Tableau darshan has also been arranged in the temple premises. Devotees also took a dip of faith in the Ganges Ghats, although the administration is constantly appealing to be vigilant in view of the rising water level.
In view of security, police, PAC and RAF personnel are deployed in the entire area. Monitoring is also being done through the drone so that there is no dislocation of any kind.
Many devotees from Prayagraj visited Baba Vishwanath for the first time. There was amazing enthusiasm among the devotees. A devotee told that the coincidence of Sawan, Monday and Ekadashi is amazing in itself and by offering water to Baba, they consider themselves blessed.
Local people and volunteers gave special welcome to Kanwaris. Some flowers were rained, and somewhere their feet were washed. This service sentiment filled even more emotional color in the religious festival. In this way, the second Monday of Sawan was not only a festival of devotion and reverence in Kashi, but also became a lively glimpse of Sanatan tradition and dedication.
