Home Shivling should not be bigger than thumb

Abhishek by facing this direction

While consecrating the Shivling, your face should always be towards the north direction. Abhishek is not considered auspicious by facing towards the south and east.

Shivling should not remain dry

If you have set up a Shivling in your house, then always keep in mind that the Shivling should not remain dry. Water should be offered daily on the Shivling, as well as you should apply water for the consecration on it.

Install this Shivling at home

If you are keeping Shivling at home, then you can either keep Parad Shivling or you can also keep Narmadesh Shivling, they are considered auspicious, as well as suitable for keeping them at home.

Worship should be daily copy

The worship of the Shivling kept at home should be daily copy, it should be offered daily.

Do not use these utensils

If you have set up a Shivling at your house, then never do Jalabhishek on it with plastic or steel vessel. Always offer water with copper or brass utensils.

Shiva family should also keep with you

If the Shivling is installed at home, then do not forget that there should be a Shiva family. It is also very important to have Lord Ganesha and Mother Gauri in your temple.

Do not offer basil

Remember, if you worship Shiva at home, do not forget to offer Tulsi on Lord Shiva, it is considered prohibited in worship of Shiva.

Offer climbed water in pot

Collect the water offered on Shiva and put it in a pot. Never throw this water nor let it flow like this.
