Even if a beautiful sculpture is created in the stone, then the hands of an artist are behind. The same feeling was Henry Royce’s mind, when he began the creation of the world’s most prestigious and luxury cars from a broken car. Rolls-Royce is not only engineering, but a sight of a vision, perseverance and quality, and it begins in 1904, from a simple but important event.
Henry Royce was a very skilled engineer at that time. They had a French -made ‘Decavil’ car. But it was difficult to walk, as the car was up to the name. The engine sounded, the car was shaking and her fake was not very durable. This is not tolerated by a person who emphasizes perfection like Royce. They decided to create a complete restructuring of the car, without repairing the car, and from here onwards the story of the Rolls-Royce.
Royce created not one, but three prototypes. Something different in everyone. Engine, transmission, radiator, car weight, suspension. As a result, a car was created, which was far more quiet, stable, and reliable than the Decavilhil. And the car came to see Charles Rolls, an ambitious entrepreneur in London. On May 4, 1904, when the rolls tried this car, he realized that it was not just a car, but a future revolution. The two gained their hands and the brand ‘Rolls-Royce’ was born.
In December 1904, Rolls-Royce introduced the first official 10 horsepower car. She was created in the workshop of Royce Limited in Manchester. This car sold in £ 395 was a big thing in that time. The 1800Cc engine, then extended to 1995CC, and it produced 12HP. Apart from this, her 75-inch wheelbase, triangular radiator and strong leaf spring suspension were considered technically sophisticated at that time.
The car was shown at the Paris Motor Show, where she captured everyone’s attention. She created a total of 16 units, which is still invaluable for the collector. One of these cars in 2007, ‘Chassis 2015’, a total of £ 3.2 million, which was sold at auction for about £ 35 crore.
After this first model, the Rolls-Royas did not look back. 15, 20, 30 horsepower models were created, and in 1906, such an advanced and eye -catching train called ‘Silver Ghost’ was presented, which was also called ‘the best car in the world’.
