The population of Kuwait has exceeded 50 lakhs for the first time. This information is received from the government data released in the middle of 2025. The total population is now 50,98,000, out of which 70% of the people are migrant (people from abroad) i.e. about 35,47,000, and 30% are Kuwaiti citizens i.e. about 15,50,000.

Many things have been revealed from these figures such as the number of men in Kuwait is much higher than women (30.9 lakh men and 20.1 lakh women). 80% of the country’s population is of people who are between working age (15 to 64 years). The maximum number of people are 35 to 39 years of age, which is 13% of the total population.

Most of the migrants in Kuwait are more than one crore (about 29%) and then Egyptians are second (about 19%). In terms of functioning, about 22.8 lakh people are working in Kuwait, but only 3.8% of it is Kuwaiti citizens who work in private companies. The number of domestic workers is also very large around 8.22 lakhs, which is 16% of the total population. Most of them come from India, Philippines and Sri Lanka.

Crowds in cities are growing rapidly. Salamiya has now become the most crowded area of Kuwait, where 3,31,462 people live there. It is followed by areas such as Al Farwania (3,09,871), Jalib al Shuukh (2,82,263), Hawali (2,42,214) and Mehboula (2,30,854).

45% of the total population are working and 79% of people live in private homes. It is clear from these data that Kuwait will now have to increase long -term planning, proper distribution of resources and necessary services, especially in areas where the population is increasing very fast.
