Inauguration of Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum cum Smriti Stupa built at a cost of about Rs 540 crore at Vaishali’s Karmabhoomi. The museum is located in an area of 72 acres and is developed near the holy Pushkarni pond and ancient Mar Stupa. Important events to Gautam Buddha and information to Buddhism will be displayed here.

Four times increase in Vaishali’s progress

The inauguration of this museum is expected to increase Vaishali’s progress four times. The bone remains of Lord Buddha obtained during the excavation here will be kept to visit the general public, while they are currently kept in the museum of Patna due to security reasons. After the opening of the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum, the number of Buddhist monks and tourists from India and abroad will increase. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Minister Vijay Chaudhary, and many other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Buddha Smriti Stupa height

Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum cum Smriti Stupa has been constructed by the Building Construction Department in an area of 4,300 square meters. It is made of pink stones brought from Rajasthan, in which no adhesive substance has been used to connect stones. The total height of this memory stupa is 33 meters, while its inner diameter is 38 meters and the outer diameter is 50 meters.


Use of stones of Ramlala temple

This museum built in Vaishali has been constructed with the same pink stone, which is being used in the construction of Ramlala temple in Ayodhya. When the authorities were sought answers due to delay in construction, it was found that due to the stones being sent to Ayodhya, there was a problem in the availability of stones here.

Inspection of Chief Minister’s construction work

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has visited Vaishali four times to take stock of this construction work. He has shown seriousness about this project and directed the DM to monitor the progress of construction work three to four times every month.
