The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has taken a historic step in the development of ‘The Hundred’, confirming the completion of the deal with the first six strategic partners for its teams. The announcement further strengthens the global T20 franchise model, which has now joined the owners of major IPL teams of India.

These new partners include the owners of Mumbai Indians (Reliance Industries), Lucknow Super Giants (RPSG Group) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (Sun TV Network Limited). All of them already own teams in South Africa’s major T20 League SA20.

The ECB also clarified that the remaining two deals have not been formally completed yet, but the process is completely on track. The board has given investors time to finalize investors. With this development, ‘The Hundred’ tournament has taken a big step towards international investment and Global T20 franchise model.

RPSG Group, owner of Lucknow Super Giants, will hold a 70 percent stake in Manchester Originals, while Sunrisers Hyderabad’s owner Sun TV Network Limited will have 100 percent owned by Northern Super Thrings.
