In the past few years, sequels have become a buzzword in cinema. Big hit films are coming back with sequels. 'Baahubali', 'KGF', 'Pushpa', and 'Vikram' are examples of this. However, the fact that actors Thalapathy Vijay and Sivakarthikeyan have not acted in any sequels to date has caused special concern among the fans. In this situation, Sivakarthikeyan has expressed his opinion on the sequels during his chat at the Nasscom People Summit 2025 .
Sivakarthikeyan is open to ‘ Maaveeran 2 ’ if the script is strong

Speaking at the event, Sivakarthikeyan said, "I am very scared about sequels. I will only take it up if there is a good script. I don't want to spoil the success of the first part. But 'Maveeran' was a different film with a unique script. That's why I think we should try a sequel to it," he responded skillfully. This has created great expectations among the fans, and they wish to see Sivakarthikeyan reuniting with director Madonne Ashwin for 'Maaveeran 2'.
SK calls respectful portrayals a conscious, personal shift
When an audience asked Sivakarthikeyan, “Earlier they said your films featured stalking, but now they say there’s respect for women — was that shift unintentional, or how does that come through in your storytelling?” Sivakarthikeyan acknowledged the criticism and said the change was both personal and intentional. He admitted that in his early films, some scenes may reflect immature illustrations of romance, but as he developed, he also had a vision. Now, he ensures that his script treats women with dignity, giving them agency and similar voice. He emphasized that respect is not just a subject, but a conscious story option. Shift, he said, there is a reflection of both social changes in a person and an artist and his own growth.
‘ Madharaasi ’ hits screens Sept 5

Sivakarthikeyan's next film, 'Madharaasi', is currently gearing up for release, and the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 5. Reports suggest that he will be playing a funny investigator in the film and will make fans laugh again. The first single 'Salambala', composed by Anirudh Ravichander , was unveiled by the makers recently, and the song is doing well on musical platforms. The expectations for the film among the fans are increasing day by day, and this film stands as a testament to his various dimensions in cinema.
SK busy with ‘Parasakthi’ and big director tie-ups

Along with this, Sivakarthikeyan is currently filming for the film 'Parasakthi', which is directed by Sudha Kongara. Furthermore, he is on a plan to team up with directors Pushkar-Gayatri and Venkat Prabhu for his upcoming films. Sivakarthikeyan's growth, which has involved choosing to act in diverse stories, has become one of the most noticeable in Tamil cinema .
