ASO Salary: Amidst the discussion of the 8th Pay Commission, the basic salary of level-6 employees can increase from Rs 35,400 to Rs 68,000. The total salary, including HRA and TA, can go beyond Rs 92,000.

ASO Salary: The biggest topic of discussion these days for lakhs of government employees is – 8th Pay Commission. Especially the employees coming under Level-6 (Grade Pay 4200), such as Assistant Section Officer (ASO), have great expectations from this commission.

At present, the basic salary of level-6 employees is Rs 35,400 per month. But now when the possibilities of 8th Pay Commission by the government are looking strong, this question is gaining momentum – how much will the salary increase?

What is the fitment factor?

In every pay commission, a new fitment factor is decided, on the basis of which the old salary is changed to the new structure. In the 7th Pay Commission, this factor was 2.57. According to sources, it is likely to be around 1.92 in the 8th Pay Commission.

If the current basic salary of an employee is Rs 35,400 and it is multiplied by 1.92, then the new basic salary can be around Rs 67,968. That is, almost double increase is possible in the basic salary itself.

Benefits will also be available in allowances

Not only basic, there will be a huge increase in allowances as well.

HRA (House Rent Allowance): In metros, it is up to 30% of the basic. HRA can be Rs 20,400 on a basic of Rs 68,000.

TA (Travel Allowance): In big cities, up to Rs 3600 per month can be available.

DA (Dearness Allowance): Starts at 0% at the time of implementation and gradually increases.

What will be the total salary?

If the new basic salary is considered to be Rs 68,000, then the total salary can reach Rs 92,000 by adding HRA Rs 20,400 and TA Rs 3600. After deductions, employees are expected to get a net salary of around Rs 82,000 to Rs 85,000.
