Instagram has once again made it clear by introducing a new feature update on its platform that it is not behind in taking ideas from platforms like Snapchat. This time, the company has made changes, especially in the Reels and location-sharing feature, which aim to keep users on the platform for a long time. Reels have now become an important part of Instagram's identity, although this format was taken from TikTok.

Now the company has started giving TikTok-like features and has started the facility to repost the reels of all the users, whether you follow them or not. Earlier, Reels on Instagram could only be shared through the story, but now you can repost them directly. Reposted videos will also appear in a separate feed and the main feed of your followers.

Changes in live location too

Apart from this, Instagram has also made changes to the location-sharing feature. Now, through the 'Live Map' feature, you can see the location of those friends who have allowed you to track their location. This feature is similar to Snapchat's 'Snap Map'. The good thing is that this feature will be off by default, and to use it, you will have to turn it on manually, which will keep your privacy safe.

For some time, Instagram has faced criticism for constantly adding new features, moving away from a normal photo-sharing platform. This platform, owned by Meta, now focuses more on content creators, but sometimes the abundance of new features also confuses the users.

This move of the company shows that Instagram no longer wants to be limited to just photo-sharing, but it wants to keep its users connected through videos, location and interactive tools. However, it is not necessary that every user likes this change, especially those who remember the old version of Instagram.
