Lord Krishna’s meditation should be the first part of puja. In front of the Lord Krishna statue that has already been erected, practice meditation.

Following Lord Krishna’s Dhyana, one should combine both hands and fold both thumbs inwards to recite the Avahana Mantra in front of the Murti.

Take five flowers in each hand and place them in front of the Murti to give Shri Krishna a seat after Lord Krishna has been summoned.

Then, while reciting the Krishna Janmashtami Snana Mantra, wash the deity’s idol’s feet and give Shri Krishna water for a bath from head to toe.

Present Shri Krishna with Moli in the form of fresh clothing, Yajnopavita, jewelry, and fragrance.

Next, present Lord Krishna with a variety of fragrant items before presenting him with flowers.

Now, place Gandha, Akshata, and Pushpa in your left hand and place your right hand next to Lord Krishna Murti.

Light the dipak and offer Dhupa to Shri Krishna while reciting the following mantra.

Next is Naivedyam. Chant the Krishna Janmashtami Naivedya Mantra while offering Naivedya to Shri Krishna.

As you recite the Krishna Janmashtami Tambula Mantra, present Shri Krishna with Tambula, which is paan made with betel nuts.

Chanting the Krishna Janmashtami Dakshina Mantra while giving Shri Krishna a Dakshina (gift) is the next stage.

Then, when they recite the Krishna Janmashtami Mahanirajana Mantra, devotees offer Nirajan (Aarti) to Shri Krishna.

Pay respect to Shri Krishna and offer symbolic Pradakshina (circumambulation from left to right of Shri Krishna) with flowers.
