The lyrics of Krishna Janmashtami Puja Vidhi and Aarti: On August 15 and 16, 2025, people will celebrate Janmashtami, also called Krishna Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, an auspicious holiday. Hindu believers commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth manifestation of Lord Vishnu, with great fervor and majesty. According to the Hindu calendar, Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha during the month of Bhadrapada.
The most revered aspect of the festival, Nishita Puja, which commemorates the precise moment of Lord Krishna’s birth, will take place on August 16 from 12:04 AM to 12:47 AM, according to Drik Panchang.
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, residents in Maharashtra and portions of northern India will celebrate Dahi Handi by building traditional human pyramids that depict the heavenly act of stealing butter.
Following the Nishita Puja, devotees who observe the Janmashtami fast often break it after midnight.
Lord Krishna’s meditation should be the first part of puja. In front of the Lord Krishna statue that has already been erected, practice meditation.
Following Lord Krishna’s Dhyana, one should combine both hands and fold both thumbs inwards to recite the Avahana Mantra in front of the Murti.
Take five flowers in each hand and place them in front of the Murti to give Shri Krishna a seat after Lord Krishna has been summoned.
Then, while reciting the Krishna Janmashtami Snana Mantra, wash the deity’s idol’s feet and give Shri Krishna water for a bath from head to toe.
Present Shri Krishna with Moli in the form of fresh clothing, Yajnopavita, jewelry, and fragrance.
Next, present Lord Krishna with a variety of fragrant items before presenting him with flowers.
Now, place Gandha, Akshata, and Pushpa in your left hand and place your right hand next to Lord Krishna Murti.
Light the dipak and offer Dhupa to Shri Krishna while reciting the following mantra.
Next is Naivedyam. Chant the Krishna Janmashtami Naivedya Mantra while offering Naivedya to Shri Krishna.
As you recite the Krishna Janmashtami Tambula Mantra, present Shri Krishna with Tambula, which is paan made with betel nuts.
Chanting the Krishna Janmashtami Dakshina Mantra while giving Shri Krishna a Dakshina (gift) is the next stage.
Then, when they recite the Krishna Janmashtami Mahanirajana Mantra, devotees offer Nirajan (Aarti) to Shri Krishna.
Pay respect to Shri Krishna and offer symbolic Pradakshina (circumambulation from left to right of Shri Krishna) with flowers.
Ask the adored god for forgiveness for any errors you committed during Puja after Namaskar.
An essential component of the evening festivities is the aarti performance. Around the image of Krishna, devotees congregate and chant hymns of devotion. Kunj Aarti One of Lord Krishna’s most well-known Aartis is Bihari Ki. Kunj refers to the verdant groves of Vrindavan, whereas Bihari is one of Lord Krishna’s thousand names.
