The Summer I Turned Pretty fans are on tenterhooks as they await the series finale, with the last episode set to air on 17 September. The burning question is - will Belly choose Conrad or Jeremiah?
The Amazon Prime series is based on Jenny Han's trilogy of books and has so far stayed true to the original plot. At the end of season two, viewers saw Belly opt for Jeremiah, mirroring the events in the second book, It's Not Summer Without You.
So what can we expect from the third book? Spoiler alert.
The final book, We'll Always Have Summer, picks up two years later with Belly and Jeremiah's relationship. This differs slightly from the show, which jumps forward four years, reports the Mirror.
In the book, Jeremiah confesses to infidelity but proposes to Belly, and they begin planning their wedding amidst attempts to win over their family and friends.
However, as Belly and Conrad spend more time together over the summer, he finally reveals his feelings for her. On the wedding day, Jeremiah mistakenly opens a letter intended for Conrad from his mother, Susannah.
In the letter, Susannah tells Conrad that she only ever saw him in love once, and it was with Belly. When Jeremiah confronts Belly, she insists she has moved on from Conrad, but he doesn't believe her.
Consequently, the wedding is called off.
Who does Belly end up with - Jeremiah or Conrad?
At the conclusion of the novel, Belly departs to study overseas before ultimately reuniting with Conrad several years later at her university graduation ceremony.
They tie the knot, with Jeremiah even making an appearance at their wedding.
Will the programme stick to the book's storyline?
Han disclosed that whilst much of the series has remained faithful to the novels, this might not hold true for the conclusion.
She informed Elite Daily that she is "always changing things up", explaining: "People will be like, 'Why are you changing that? That was working well!' But to me, it could always be better. That's how I approach everything, so naturally I was going into this story feeling like I wanted to make it even better and try new things."
Supporters have made their desires crystal clear that they want the programme's finale to mirror the book, with one writing: "Now before tsitp s3 comes out I just want to say that they SHOULD stick to the book ending in which she ENDS UP WITH CONRAD."
Another shared on X: "I swear if belly says 'I choose me' at the end of TSITP, I'm MAD. There's a book everyone knows and loves so follow it. Being team Conrad isn't a choice, it's the literal book ending."
A third said: "Hoping this last season of TSITP goes by the book ending!".
