UPSC Civil Service Age Limit: Every year, lakhs of candidates appear in the examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The minimum age to appear for the UPSC examination for General Category women and men is 21 years and a maximum of 32 years. They can appear for the UPSC exam only 6 times.

For Other Backward Class (OBC) category candidates, the minimum age limit is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 35 years, i.e., OBCs are given 3 years relaxation. They have 9 attempts.

For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) category people, the minimum age limit is 21 years and maximum age limit is 37 years. 5 years relaxation is given. There is no limit on attempts.

Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD)

General category PwBD: Maximum 42 years (10 years relaxation) – 9 attempts

OBC PwBD: Maximum 45 years (13 years relaxation) – 9 attempts

SC/ST PwBD: Maximum 47 years (15 years relaxation) – No limit on attempts
